Write for us
United County Journal welcomes considered pitches about countryside landscapes and rural life, especially pieces that help a general reader notice, compare or understand a particular feature of a place.
What we welcome
Propose an original, focused article about fields, paths, seasons, rural buildings or the practice of observing a landscape. Strong ideas have a clear question, a defined scope and a reason to matter beyond one brief moment. Explanatory, comparative, historical and reflective approaches are all welcome.
A useful pitch
Tell us the working title, central idea, likely structure and what the reader will understand by the end. Note the kinds of sources or knowledge the piece would rely on, and flag uncertainty or regional variation. Do not submit a finished article unless it has been requested.
How to send it
Send proposals through the Contact page, choosing the editorial question option and making clear that your message is a pitch. Please include a short description of your relevant experience, but do not imply credentials or first-hand reporting you do not have. A pitch is not a promise of publication.
